Out-Sourcing is the Coolest Answer to Saving Money

Happy business woman in office rejoicing success

(It’s the new black!)

What exactly is it that drives us? If you are like most people, it’s the simple things that drive us: providing for our families, happiness, and helping others.

Helping. Others.

As a business executive, you likely didn’t fall into your exalted position because you were only selfishly thinking of number one. You are driven, tenacious, and determined to make a difference. You were thinking of others, not yourself. Selfish people are seldom successful because they can’t look past their own desires – no fun for anyone.

Did you know there is NO PLATEAU to how much more you can accomplish in your business life? The sky is literally the limit. Nothing should make you feel like you can “only go so far”. NO! You can go as far as you wish.

But, to get there, you need to understand some basic, easily-proven truths to creating success, and how quickly you will get to that next level of success will depend on how willing you are to invest in your business life with this data in mind. Here are some simple things to remember as you are building your vision and improving your business. You will (usually) be in one of these categories and each will lead to the next, if the appropriate actions are taken.

  1. If your work or business is in danger of surviving, you need to stop whatever else you are doing and handle the danger. If you were in a car accident, you would address the accident first, not pull out your phone to do some online shopping. Once the situation is handled, you’d have to figure out what caused it and figure out a way to change your actions so it never happens again. (Whether you are the CEO or the janitor, when there is danger in your business, you have to stop and handle it. Yourself.)
  2. If your revenue is not growing as fast as you would like it to, you need to invest more in your promotion, marketing and public relations. You need to get the word out! The more people that know you, in any capacity and on any medium, the more word will spread about you, the more business will come your way. End of story. The more attention you get the more money you will make. If you do not want to spend the money on hiring a marketing professional, you need to understand that it will take you longer to get your revenue where you want it. When you invest, you gain traction and speed.
  3. When your business is growing at a steady pace, don’t make any drastic changes. Look at all the activities, add more of what is working and drop whatever you see that’s not working. You don’t need to question that “It should work” or “It used to work” or “I really want it to work”. Is it working right now, today? That’s the only question you need to ask. If not, drop it.
  4. When you hit a steep upsurge in business revenue (i.e. win the business lottery), pay all your debt first, but then reinvest in the future business expansion you want to see.

You need to be smart about your marketing spend, no question. You need to be strategic, and you need to understand exactly what you are trying to accomplish. You need to know that #3 above can go on for years and years and years and everyone will be happy and nothing spectacularly disturbing will ever happen in your business. But, wouldn’t you like to win the business lottery?

Well, since business lottery tickets are not sold anywhere that I know of, you’ll have to create a situation so you know, without a doubt, that you will arrive in the Land of Prosperity. And you most certainly will arrive if you understand what to do at each stage of your business growth.

If you haven’t heard, out-sourcing is the new black. Even if you have a marketing division and staff in place, finding a marketing professional to work with you to further create the attention you need to get that revenue stream flowing even faster is the answer. You will not have more staff overhead, and you will have a fresh perspective, which is how marketing strategists create windfall successes. Fresh, different, separate from the normal daily nuances of your business, but supportive and streamlined and only covering those areas that could use a fresh coat of paint.

Be willing to change your course, but never give up on the goal, and never believe that it can’t be done.
